Funny Friday: Funny Stories

It's the country's second arctic winter plunge, and I'm thinking we could all use a pick me up from these freezing January blues; so it's time for the too long forgotten Funny Friday.

The first funny story comes on behalf of my 6 year old nephew. This little stink face.
This happened when I was home for Christmas, and I texted it to myself so I would remember it, and I just reread if the other day and laughed and laughed to myself, so it deemed it worth sharing.

My dad's cat jumped on my lap and I was petting him as Kaleb was whispering something to Hal that was making him crack up. Hal finally ratted Kaleb out. He had whispered "I saw Benny climb into Sam's lap and I saw brown on his bum and I think he's going to poop on her."

To which Hal whispered "You should tell her"

And Kaleb replied "No, because I think it would be funny if he pooped on her." How loving he is.

And funny story #2 comes from Hal and his little brother. They're living together right now and going to the same school.
Before I left Utah we moved out of our apartment and moved Hal into his new apartment with his brother. I went shopping with Hal one of my last days there to help them get supplies for the apartment, you know; little things, tissues, soap, dish washing detergent. Before I left I was thinking, oh they're going to need toilet paper soon, they only have like one roll left. I'm not someone to plays around with running out up tp, so it stuck in my mind.

About a week ago I got a snap chat from the little brother, it was a picture of the box of tissues I had bought, almost empty and it said, our tp supply is getting low. They had run out of toilet paper and were too lazy to get some more that they started using tissues. I about died when I heard this. I immediately got on Amazon and bought the largest amount for the cheapest price of tp that I could find.

Because washing yourself off in the shower after you've run out of tissues is not cool in my book. Hopefully their stash lasts them the next 3 months; or who knows what they'll resort to.

And the moral of the story is boys are disgusting.

Funny Friday : Wrong Number

The other day I was trying to text my sister. I had texted her a while ago and didn't get a response so I was starting to think I had the wrong number in my new phone for he I decided to text her again to double check. Apparently I had the wrong number and a bit of a hilarious conversation ensued.

SO naturally I sent him this picture.

Apparently my picture wasn't sexy enough for him or something. Whatever dude. My sister appreciated the picture and story very much once I got her correct phone number in my phone. And that's why family rules.

And just in case that wasn't enough of a good laugh for you, check out Eli's blog, It Just Gets Stranger, and his snuggie texts which is some of the funniest wrong number texting I've ever seen.

Funny Friday : Makeup giveaway?

Today we're talking about makeup. But it's Friday, so before I get to my big makeup thing, lets have some funny e cards.

I thew out this question a bit ago on Twitter, and didn't hear anything about it. But really, it's twitter and I didn't really expect to...so I thought if I want to get anything done around here I might as well use a form of social media that I actually use regularly.

So I have quite a bit of makeup. A family member works for MAC, and sometimes they sends home samples that aren't being used anymore so I have quite the stock pile.

Well I feel bad having all of this makeup that I'm never really going to use, so I thought, hey why not give it away?

So my question, if I did a giveaway on my blog, would you want the makeup, even though some of it was used as samples?

Not one of those giveaways where you have to sign up for a bajillion people's blogs just to have a chance to win. Just me, and just you. There would be three winners, and each would receive 2 lipsticks, 2 lipglosses, 1 eyeshadow, and one extra thing on the side.

If you guys are against using used makeup, that's fine, I'll find someone to give it away to, I just thought it would be fun to give it away to you guys.

What do you think?

Funny Friday: July 4th

It's Friday, and the day after a holiday and it sucks to be back at work, so I thought we could use a little pick me up.

And who better to bring us holiday humor than Jim Gaffagin?

I'm pretty sure that happened in my house last night.

I thought I'd include a little non holiday video hilariousness. Seriously guys, we found this video this week and you gotta watch it. If you love Will Ferrel's Harry Caray at all, you're gonna love this.

I hope you guys all had a wonderful holiday celebrating our Independence.

Funny Friday: Most Embarassing Moments

Today's post from Jenni's Blog Every Day in May just so happened to coincide, and be something funny I could use for Funny Friday, which is real good, because I had nothing this week.

Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.

I don't have a lot of embarassing moments, mostly because I tend to embarass myself a lot,  so not a lot of embarassing moments stick out in my mind.

But who doesn't have an embarassing moment from middle school, where every little thing felt like the end of the world.

In 9th grade (in my school 9th grade was middle school still) I struggled a lot with my blood sugar. Hypoglycemia rus in my family and it hit me really hard in 9th grade.

One day I was walking down some stairs with 2 friends, heading towards the lunch room. When all of the sudden my vision just started to go black. I reached for the railing, but didn't make it, and I blacked out. I came to like 30 seconds later at the bottom of the stair case. I had slid down the entire staircase on my shins. Of course it was lunch time and everyone heard my friends yell out, so the entire hallway was staring at me by the time I reached the bottom.

Nothing like opening your eyes to not really knowing what happened, but everyone is staring at you. I got up real quick and booked it for the lunch room. End of the world in middle school! I did end up with some cool brusies to show off though.

And for a more light hearted one...

During our first language lesson in Cambodia we saw a giant male pig arrive, and about 10 minutes later we heard uncontrollable screeching. It was horrible. We didn't see the pig leave, and I was sure that they had just killed a pig in the middle of our lesson. I was horrified. I told any volunteer who would listen what happened during our lesson.

During a later lesson we heard it again, so I asked my teacher if the man who owned the house was a butcher because the pigs were squealing. He said no, he's a welder, and the pigs were having sex, that's what the squeeling was.  Oh....then I had to correct myself to every volunteer. Woops. Piglets arrived soon after.

Funny Friday: Text Your Parents

Lets start with the topic for Jenni's blog every day in May: Things that make you uncomfortable.

1-When people argue politics:
You aren't going to see the same side, and you knew that when you started arguing, and you're just making the situation awkward for everyone.
2-When people just want to argue and won't even hear your side of it:
I really hate this. I try to be an open person, and if I don't agree with you, I will still listen to you. I get really uncomfortbale when people are closed minded and when you say your side they just say "NO" and go off on why you're wrong.
3-When people make out in public:
Do I even need to explain this one?

This might be the best Funny Friday I've done. Last week was pretty darn good, but I just find this hilarious.

I found this on my old standby, buzzfeed. It's called:

What Happens if you text your parents pretending to be a drug dealer
And here's how it starts

And here are some of the reponses, hilarious.

Now please go to the website and read the rest of them, they really are hilarious.

Funny Friday: Funny Stories

For Funny Friday today I thought I'd share some funny stories that happened to both us and other volunteers while we were living in Cambodia. A lot of really crazy things happened to us, but after a while they just became common place to us.

One of my favorite stories happened to Hal and I while we were eating some Zattarans in our room for lunch. We savored our western food while we lived there so we would save them for special occassions or days that we just really didn't feel like biking to the market.

I was sitting  on the edge of our bed, and Hal was sitting at our desk with the bowl of food. The fan was inbetween us because I was preparing to leave, and if you have the fan on you and then step outside you'll start sweating even more profusely, so I put the fan between us and was reaching out to get bites of food.

One thing you should know about me, is that I'm a serial spiller. I spill on myself probably once a day, no joke. I think this moment is when Hal stopped letting me lean over him to eat out of the bowl. Lets accurately set the scene for you here. You're welcome for this, in advance.

(Don't ask me why Hal is sitting weird like that, lets just call is creative license. I'm particularly proud of the mosquito net in the drawing, it's kin of a masterpiece.)

As I took a bite I brought it over to my mouth while I was blowing on it to let it cool, I dropped the whole heaping spoonful into the fan. Hal was suddenly splattered with zattarans since the fan was blowing directly on him. He wasn't very happy but I just laughed and laughed and laughed. That was probably my most epic spill ever.

This is our friend Ashley and her Cambodian yay (grandmother). Yays are the coolest! This is possibly one of the best pictures I've seen any volunteer take.

And Lastly, we all have mispronounced a khmer word a time or two. The problem with that is that a lot words sound almost exactly the same, so it's easy to mispronounce them. A good friend of ours chose a few words each week to practice with his Health Center Staff. One time he was trying to say "I ate corn on my new sheets" what his staff heard was "I ate vagina on my big shirt".

And that for you, is a glimpse into the life of a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cambodia.

Funny Friday

I thought about not doing a funny post today considering everything that is going on in Boston, but then I remembered when we had that mass shooting at Trolley Square, the mall where I worked, and I thought, no today we need laughs. But we still send our hearts to those effected by the Boston Bombings.

Who doesn't love good cat picture to make them laugh?

Let me paint a picture for you.

Your tummy is hurting when you get home from work and you walk in the door and your husband is making the most fantastic meal. Like homemade tomato almond pesto yummy. So you go lie down in your comfy comfy bed with your kindle to relax and hope your tummy ache passes. Then your nice kitty climbs up on the bed, and you think, oh she wants to come cuddle with me since I don't feel well.

But then your view of your kindle gets blocked, and all of the sudden this is your view.

She's really a big fat jerk covered in fur with a cute little meow to make you forget that she's really just a big fat jerk.

Because she also does it when you're trying to watch some netflix in bed.

In other news, The Giant Mechanical Man on Netflix is worth a watch, it seems like people are always trying to find a movie worth watching on Netflix.

Funny Friday

This week's Funny Friday post is also a little bit scary. It comes to you from the Color Festival we went to last weekend.

I was one of the last ones in our group to shower, and everyone kept looking at me all funny. No one would take my seriously with chalk all over my face, So I started wiping all of the chalk off my face, and then they looked at me even more funny.

I went from this:

To this:

Perhaps the title of this blog should have been "Something Wicked This Way Comes"

Funny Friday

I didn't take any funny pictures this week. So I decided to steal an idea from Angi at Into The Forest Dim, and her Funny Friday post, and share with you all the wonder that is buzz feed.

Seriously, my work life changed when I found buzz feed.

So check out a few funny posts from today, and thank me later.

Funny Friday

I wasn't sure what I was going to post for funny friday just last night. I didn't take any funny pictures this week.  And then last night something happened that I found hilarious. I hope it's not a you had to be there moment, so I'm going to try and explain what happened.

Hal likes to attempt to do my hair sometimes. When we first got married he literally had no idea how to put a hair holder in my hair. Ah the life of growing up with no sisters. So last night when I was painting my nails Hal put my hair in pig tails.

Well one was looser than the other, so I asked him, since my nails were wet, hey, will you tighten the left one. He literally had no idea how to tighten a pony tail.

Normally it looks like this when you want to tighten your pony tail, right?

Well, when I tried to explain to Hal how to do it: you take the hair in your hand, split it in half, and pull them apart, this is what he thought I meant.
No Hal, I didn't mean for you to just pull on my hair.

I just laughed and laughed and laughed when he did this. I'm pretty sure if I asked my little brother to do this, he would know exactly what I meant, but he grew up with 5 sisters, and he was our slave when he was little. Hal grew up in a family of all boys. Oh the education he's had in the last 5 years being with me.

What silly girl things has your husband had to learn?

P.s. My bro-in-law is coming home from his mission this week. Wish him a safe flight, and a slightly less awkward return!

Funny Friday

This is another funny friday brought to you by our cat.

Our chubby kitty really likes to be involved in whatever you're doing. If you're lying down watching TV, she's on your lap, if you're reading a book, she lying on you between you and the book, if you're doing homework on the floor, she's lying on your books.

She's always been this way. It was so hard to work on projects because you'd be trying to make this post look like you have some skillz, and then your cat would be lying on half of it, leaving behind crinckles and hair.

Hal does his homework on the floor a lot. So kitty is all over his homework.

Also, she's taking a liking to licking Hal's head lately. I don't know what's more gross, that she wants to lick Hal's head, or that Hal just lets her lick it?
The other night she went to town. It was digusting. She licked IN HIS EAR.

That is my nightmare. Nothing should go in the ear other than maybe a q-tip. These two are gross, and a little bit funny because it's not happening to me, but mostly gross.

Funny Friday

I decided we needed a little break from my cat for funny friday posts. So this week is brought to you by my lovely Mr. Hal.

Over the Christmas break Hal decided he wanted to grow out a mustache. This isn't anything new, he often grows out a beard over his breaks in school, since his school makes him shave. I know, it sounds weird, but they're a religious private college and so they can set different rules. At BYU you can have a mustache, it just has to not extend beyond the corners of your mouth.

He was going for a handle bar mustache and was pretty into it, until he read the honor code again, and it said it cannot extend beyond or below the corners of your mouth, so he decided a legit handlebar mustache would be breaking the code of honor, so it had to go.

But we took these sweet pictures before he shaved it. Oh, they get better as they go along.

The kids at church still call him "frenchie" even though his mustache is gone.

How do you feel about mustaches?

Funny Friday.

First of all. Happy March. March? Isn't it still December or something?

The other night I was awoken by snoring. Neither Hal or I snore, so when someone does, it makes it hard for me to sleep. And thus, noises in the night wake me up.

I woke up and realized it was the cat who was snoring. She's been snoring a lot lately. Then I realized she wasn't lying on me (she's a snuggler and is always lying on one of us). I then realized the snoring was coming from my right so I turn my head over and this is the sight I beheld.

My lazy fat cat, snoring away, half under the covers, half out of them with her head snuggled on my pillow.

What cat likes to sleep under blankets? Besides mine of course, she's always trying to get under any sort of blanket you have covering you.

I'm pretty sure she thinks she's our baby. She's always begging for milk, always wants to snuggle, and sleeps over half the day away. Silly cat.

Funny Friday

This week's funny friday is a short one. It's brought to you by cheap half price valentines day candy.

Best. Conversation. Heart. Ever!!

Maybe I love it so much because we've started watching Prison Break and can't stop. And Tweener The Rat always says SUP, and when we're lazy and leave the subtitles on it says "what's up?" And I'm like Duh subtitles, get with the times...or the 2006 times.

Thanks conversation hearts for being with the times. Although, I could lose the CU L8R ones. I hate when people text like that so I never understand them and have to show them to Hal for a translation.

What's the best conversation heart you've seen?

Funny Friday

It's Funny Friday time. I was thinking of posts for next week and realized I didn't even have my Funny Friday post done, so I started looking through my phone for funny pictures and found this gem.

Some of you might not think this is funny.

I personally do. Maybe it's a twisted I lived in a third world country and know the culture kinda funny, but it's funny.

In Cambodia...men grow out their pinkie nails. Like grow out as long as possible. They pick their ears and nose and who knows whatever else with them.

One time Hal and another volutneer tried to grow out their pinkies, and I was all "I love you, but that thing has got to go."

Now this might be a little hard to see, so lean into the screen and get a good look. This is the longest I've seen a guy grow out his nails, and he didn't stop at his pinkie.

I hope I'm properly preparing you for this. This is a guy we saw on the bus. I acted like I was taking a picture of Hal. Sneaky Sneaky.

Sexy, no?

Funny Friday

Two days ago I head this slurping noise, and I was like what is that, and where is it coming from?

I followed the noise and found this

Usually when you catch our cat doing something like this she gets all embarrassed and runs away, but apparently she really wanted some fresh water and just kept right on drinking away from the dripping faucet.
Now you may want to avert your eyes, it's about to get a little sensuous up in here.

She must have gotten spoiled from having a fountain water dish at Hal's parent's house while we were gone in Cambodia. We gotta a diva kitty up in here.
I've heard of other cats who drink water from the bathtub after a shower. Does your cat do this?
