Fill in the Blank Friday: Travel

1.   My favorite place i've ever traveled to is     New York, we had a short layover there on our honeymoon and we had such a blast in the city   .

2.    Scotland     is somewhere I'd love to go someday. (APRIL!!)

3.  I pass the time on a plane (or bus, or car ride or train) by     sleeping on hal, listening to music, and reading books or magazines until I get car sick      .

4.  My three must-haves when I travel are     a camera    ,    snacks   and     a cardigan

5.  My favorite travel companion is    my husband Hal  .

6.  The craziest thing that ever happened to me while traveling is    We were flying home from California and they were searching our bag over and over again, pulling out all of our dirty underwear (literally) and then they found what they were looking for, a pocket knife, a gift from Hal's grandfather he had received on the trip. Oops, we thought we had left it at his brother's house. Needless to say, after many bad looks we checked that bag .

7.  The most exotic food I've ever tried while traveling is    frog or shark meat here in Cambodia  .
8.  If I could live anywhere else, I'd live in   Possibly Colorado, or Northern California  .

9.  I have been to    eleven  states in the U.S.

Christmas in Cambodia: Fill in the blank Friday

1.   The best way to spread Christmas cheer is     to be Christmas cheer. When you're excited about it other people pick up on that. Also, Christmas music does it real fast for me.   .

2.   The thing I love most about Christmas is    being around family and celebrating this important time of the year with those that I love most. I love how magical it feels.

3.  The holiday season is a time for   being with those your love. Celebrating the different meanings of each holiday. Celebrating the birth of Christ    .

4. My favorite thing to eat at the holidays is    Usually turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, and then making an sandwich out of it for days after the big event. Oh man, I'm craving turkey so bad. It's so hard to find in this country!

5.  I will be spending Christmas    In my little studio room with Hal. My family sent us an amazingly big package that I can't wait to open. We're making sugar cookies in the toaster oven that Hal's parents paid for, for Christmas, and going to a Christmas party at a VSO's house who lives in our town  .

6.  Tis better to (give or receive?)   Receiving gifts is fun, but I really love to find the perfect gift for each person. It's a special thrill I get, thinking of, and finding each gift. Kind of bummed I couldn't do that this year, but I did leave Christmas presents for all of our family before we left in July  .

7.  I'm dreaming of a    family filled     Christmas. (thanks to skype)

Fill In The Blank Friday

Well, it's Friday, and sitting at home watching Hal do calculus homework isn't as interesting as it sounds, so I thought while I had time I'd participate in Lauren's Fill In The Blank Friday. In case you haven't heard of this, each week Lauren asks a few questions and then everyone answers them on their blogs and then links up at Lauren's blog. It's gotten such a big following!

1.   The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is      There are quite a few. I used to invent my own sayings, like freak shanoli...don't ask. But now I say "I know, right" or "For Real, Right?" I just like to make people feel validated! haha, that's not really why, I just go through phrases a lot. .

2.  Today I am thankful for    my family, and the opportunities I have to spend time with them, and to be apart of the big things that they are going through.   .

3.  My best friend is    My Mr. because he's there for me, even when I feel like no one in the world is there.      .

4.  A quirky thing about me is     Oh gosh, I feel like I'm one big quirk ball, if that were a real thing. I always carry Burts Bees regular chapstick in my right pocket. If I forget it, I'm usually in for a rough day, and come home with dry lips because I can't stop licking them.

5.  This weekend I     am going to give sushi another try. Have any recommendations on what type of rolls to get?

6.  Something that worries me is        is waiting. I hate waiting. Hal and I are waiting to hear back on some big news, and it's going to take even longer now that I changed my last name and have to re-fill out legal forms .

7.  On my night stand you would find       My Scriptures, essential oils, my jewelry box, and the book that I am currently reading "A Girl Named Zippy", oh, and a lamp.     .

Fill in the Blankety Blank Friday

Since I had to go into work today I figured that I might as well participate in:

Fill In The Blank Friday

If you want to see some more answers head over to Lauren's blog, The Little Things We Do

1. My favorite book growing up was
That depends on what you view as growing up. When I was really little it was books like my Little Mermaid collection, but by the time I was in middle school it was definitely Lord of the Rings, I know, I know, I'm a dork .

2. The funniest book I've ever read was That is a really good question. Probably a David Sedaris book. I love his work. Maybe because I can identify with his OCD problems. I used to sit in Barnes & Noble and read his books. Shh, don't tell the people at Barnes and Noble.

3. The one book that has truly changed my life is This is a really recent one, and I actually haven't read it yet, because we lent our copy to someone. It's called Leadership and Self Deception. It's amazing. It seriously changed my marriage. Which means that Hal read it and it changed his life, which means it changed my life. If you're marriage could use improving, which I say they always could...read it, and the great thing about it is that it's not even a book about marriage, so if you're single and want to improve your view of other people, read it .

4. If you're looking for a real "tear jerker" you should probably read hmm,, I can't think of a book that has made me cry. There is a really good one called "The Message" that my sister gave to all of us after my mom died. It's really awesome. I later found out that my mother-in-law went to school with the guy who the book is about, isn't that cool? Well, if you know someone who has lost a love one, or if you have it's a really great book.

5. If I could meet any author living or dead I would want to meet I didn't even have to think about this one. Hands down, it would be J.R.R. Tolkien. He is so freaking cool. Yes, again a big fat dork, but anyone who can invent languages deserves to be met .

6. The next book on my "to read" list is I have quite a few. I just finished the girl with a dragon tattoo series (my boss is awesome and got the 3rd book from a UK store because it isn't out on the U.S.) Anyway, I will be reading Seeing Red next. it's the second book in the Looking Glass Wars series. .

7. If I was snowed into remote cabin in the woods and could only choose three books to bring with me I'd bring The Book of Mormon, Persuasion, The Hobbit .

It's mothers day on Sunday!! There is something I have been thinking about posting, but since I moved out I can't find one of my journals and I know I posted a copy in there, so perhaps I'll do some searching and see if I can find it in honor of mothers day. Hopefully we can get my siblings together to head to the cemetery. I guess I should start looking for an awesome bouquet of flowers now. My mom loved loved loved flowers, and so whenever I bring flowers to her gave I always try to find flowers that are very "her." I always take a picture with my phone and send it to my sister in Oregon so she can approve of them.

After that we get to celebrate with Hal's mom. I just adore his mom, she's so great. What makes it even more fantastic is that we get to celebrate Mother's Day and her birthday in less than a week. Good thing I already have a present for both!

Don't judge me for not being proper and using quotation marks around the book names. What really should matter is that I know I should have done it, right?

Fill in the Blank Friday

I have always wanted to play along with this, but I am not usually online on Fridays since it's my day off, but I am waiting for Hal to come back with the Chinese food so we can have a picnic in the front room and watch a movie he got for me to have a low key early celebration. Stop by Lauren's blog The little things we do for more Fill in the Blank Friday. soo, here we go with

Fill In The Blank Friday

1. Today I am wearing stripey blue and white long sleeved shirt with my favorite dark blue jeans, and my cute brown polo shoes

2. My favorite childhood food was chicken nuggets and my favorite food now is this is a hard one. I really LOVE (sorry, wasn't meant to be all caps, but my cat just rested her head on the computer and hit the tab and the caps button, haha) I love mashed potatoes, or really potatoes in any form.

3. A day that I am too busy to read a book is a day that I am too busy.

4. The last movie I saw was Valentine's Day and the next movie I want to see is Coco before Chanel. I'm so stoked. Hal knew I really wanted to see it, so he got it for us to watch tonight. I'll let you know how it is..

5. My favorite smell is The way outside smells after rain because, It just has such a distinct clean lovely smell. It makes me happy .

6. A weird little quirk I have is I won't use a public restroom unless I'm about to die. I'm really good at holding it, and even though it's bad for you I will hold it over using a public restroom. .

7. When I take personality quizzes they always say I'm that depends on what kind of personality test. the serious ones I'm an ENFJ, thats extrovert, intuative feeling, judging, but if we're talking silly little ones they'll tell my because of my hair length and what not I'm cute .

Well, that's it. Look for my anniversary post up tomorrow. woo woo.
