7 Years

Hal and I just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. 7 years! It seems like until you hit 10, it's the odd years that feel big. 3, 5, and now 7. People are always shocked when we tell them how long we've been married. While it's commonplace in Utah, it's always a shock to people out here how young we got married. But I wouldn't change it for anything. We've had so many amazing experiences that we've been able to share with one another that we would have missed out on if we had waited to get married. Getting married young may not work for everyone, but it's done good by us.
We started out our anniversary by going to a flea market out in Dulles which was so much fun. When we went in Hal said we had to set a time limit, and I talked him up to an hour. But as soon as we were inside, he was the one stopping and looking at everything. While we came away empty handed, it was really cool to see some of the antiques people have.

Then we started a 5.5 mile hike out in Manassas which was really fun. It was my turn to plan our anniversary, and we wanted to keep it pretty low key since we've been traveling so much recently, so after our hike we headed to Old Town Alexandria for a nice little dinner.
And for our actual anniversary day we decided to do our other favorite summer activity - The Beach!! It was so unbelievably windy on the beach that the waves were pretty crazy. We didn't stay too long with all the blowing sand, but it was still fun to get in the water one last time for the year.
We finished out the day with lots of crab legs and local Ocean City ice cream which more may have melted than ended up in Hal's mouth. We ended up driving across the bay bridge right at sunset. It felt like we were riding off into heaven. Not a bad way to kick off our 8th year.

Happy belated Anniversary!!! I also love how you two met, I think years ago you wrote about all that. ;) Plus, there's nothing wrong with getting married early, or late. No rules. Looks like you spent an amazing time celebrating your love!

Happy, happy anniversary!! 7 years is a big accomplishment! We'll be celebrating 5 years this December. I love how y'all always do such fun things like hiking. We are kind of bad about that.

Also, this would be a cute post to stick on the linkup on my blog if you're interested :).
