Utah Wedding Photographer: Duston Todd

I have been meaning to do this post forever! Here is the last of my favorite Utah Wedding Photographer posts, and I definitely saved one of the best for last! Of course I have to think that he's the best, I picked him to photograph my own wedding, and I must say that he did an absolutely fabulous job! Lots of people told me that I should keep looking at photographers, and would suggest someone they knew who would do it for cheaper. But my photography was something I wasn't willing to compromise on. That's all that you have to look back on after that day and I wanted to pick a photographer that I knew would be able to capture my wedding day the way I wanted it captured. I looked at SO many photographers before I decided on the amazing Duston Todd.

I have worked with him a little bit since my wedding, if you remember, he took my picture for the Sleep Portraits he was doing.

Now I don't want to spoil too much, because tomorrow is Wedding Wednesday, and it's engagements/bridal time, so I have lots more Duston Todd pictures to show, but I wanted to showcase him before I posted those pictures, because he definitely deserves a whole post dedicated to his work. I'll just post a few favorites from my wedding day, but seriously, go visit his website, he has some amazing work posted on there. Also, how I fell in love with him, was his old blog which he has a ton of work posted on.

I really felt like he captured the feel of my wedding exactly. In this last picture, he was so nice. Our time was up with him, but it started raining, and I wanted more than anything to dance in the rain on my wedding day, so Hal and I just started practicing our wedding dance in the rain, and he stopped leaving and started taking these pictures. I'm so glad that I have pictures of us dancing in the rain.

He is starting to do more commercial work, which you can see on his new blog (which is different from the other blog link I posted). I am extremely happy I didn't let anyone talk me out of  working with Duston. Both Hal and I couldn't be happier with the way our pictures turned out. I loved them so much we had an album made by Duston, which we are pretty much in love with and will show to anyone who will sit at our house long enough for us to pull it out. I couldn't give a better recommendation than Duston, so go see for yourself, go visit his website.

Utah / Colorado Wedding Photographer: Amy Hansen

Alright, so I might be cheating a bit with this one, because she doesn't actually live in the state of Utah. But she comes here a lot, so if you ask in advance, and she knows the next time she's coming, then she might be able to do your wedding! Hey, she did a chunk of the photography for my wedding and she captured some of the most amazing shots. Oh, and hey, she's my sister.

So, let my introduce to you the fabulous work of Amy Hansen. I'll share a few that she took from my wedding, but not too many, but I'll let you know when I post pictures of hers in my Wedding Wednesday segments. I feel so blessed to have a sister that is so talented and can take pictures like these! If you're interested in her, visit her website.

That's enough of my wedding. Here are some amazing pictures that she has taken of other people's weddings.
She does such fabulous work. So if you live here in Utah, e-mail her and see if she'll be in town on your wedding date. Or, if you live in the Colorado Springs area, you're in for a treat. She lives in that area, and that's where she does most of her work. But seriously, go to her website here and look at all of her pictures, they are so beautiful. I feel so blessed to have a sister that is so talented and can take pictures like these!

Utah Wedding Photographer: Maddie Thomas

Today is my second post on Utah wedding photographers that I adore. I've posted about her before, but she deserves a post all on her own! I'm so excited to be able to see Maddie again, because as I posted about in my last wedding photographer post, my friend is getting married in a few months and has decided on Maddie as her wedding photographer! So, let me introduce one of my favorite wedding photographers, Maddie Thomas.

Maddie was SO sweet, and set up a photoshoot with Hal and I, wow, that was almost a year ago now! She works with one of her friends Lee, who styles most of her photoshoots, and the two of them work together so fantastically. They were such a pleasure to work with. They make a fantastic team, and have such creative ideas for styling photoshoots.

I was so impressed with what they put together for our audrey hepburn/french inspired photoshoot. They brought all of the props and set it all up for us. It was so much fun to work for them, even though we were all freezing from the wind.
She has taken so many fabulous pictures since this. I get so excited when I see that she has posted new pictures. What I love the most about Maddie is that she does such a good job capturing a couple's personalities.
Be sure to check out her post of what happened during their stylized couple shoot. It's the greatest story!

If you would like to see more pictures that Maddie has taken, or if you would even like to get more information from her or even contact her,  here's the link to her website.

Utah Wedding Photographer: Johnathan Hickerson

I was talking to a friend who just recently got engaged a little while ago about wedding photographers, and I realized that I have been really lucky to interact with a few fantastic wedding photographs more than maybe the average person. When I was getting married I was SO picky about wedding photographers. It took me a long time to find one that I just loved, because a wedding is such a special time, and pictures are the main thing you have after the wedding day; so in my opinion, they're worth spending more, for a photographer whos work you absolutely love. In talking to her about this I thought maybe this would be a good thing to blog about, wedding photographers that I've had to opportunity to meet, see in action, and see their fabulous work. Hopefully it will help someone here locally find an amazing photographer.

Utah is the land of weddings, and so there are a lot of photographers here, and a lot of them that take the same exact picture and don't shoot for originality, and that makes me sad. So here is the first of 4 wedding photographers who I absolutely love their work.

Meet Jonathan Hickerson.

He shot my friend's wedding back in December and man, I was impressed. He hung out with us all day while we set up the reception, and came to the rehearsal dinner, and was so much fun to talk to! I love it when people are interesting, unique, and easy to talk to, and he was definitely one of them. He also shot my friend's new brother-in-law's wedding a month before theirs, out on Catalina Island.
And then he did an even more fabulous job on my friend's wedding. I had never seen his work before, and I was really impressed by the photos that he took! I think his work speaks for itself.
Their wedding was so much fun! In that last picture my hair was falling out, but it's funny because we are talking about how to get those black marks out of shoes, so her shoe is in her hand. That cute little girl was following me around and dancing with me all night. I have no idea who she was, but I had fun dancing with her. I like this picture because I'm talking to the bride, and Hal is in the background talking to the groom. It's wonderful when a good photographer can catch little moments like these.

So, if you're interesting in booking Jonathan Hickerson, here is a link to his website, and a link to his photography facebook page, where you can look at many more pictures of his fabulous work.
