Funny Friday: July 4th

It's Friday, and the day after a holiday and it sucks to be back at work, so I thought we could use a little pick me up.

And who better to bring us holiday humor than Jim Gaffagin?

I'm pretty sure that happened in my house last night.

I thought I'd include a little non holiday video hilariousness. Seriously guys, we found this video this week and you gotta watch it. If you love Will Ferrel's Harry Caray at all, you're gonna love this.

I hope you guys all had a wonderful holiday celebrating our Independence.

Funny Friday: E Cards

It's been a while since I've done a Funny Friday post, and I'm craving it. Keep your advice coming about my last post. I'm going to go out there with him, it's just a matter of when.

We need some laughs now.

Funny Workplace Ecard: There's got to be an easier way to make a living than barely doing anything at my job all day.
Now share something funny with me that you heard or saw recently.

Funny Friday: Most Embarassing Moments

Today's post from Jenni's Blog Every Day in May just so happened to coincide, and be something funny I could use for Funny Friday, which is real good, because I had nothing this week.

Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.

I don't have a lot of embarassing moments, mostly because I tend to embarass myself a lot,  so not a lot of embarassing moments stick out in my mind.

But who doesn't have an embarassing moment from middle school, where every little thing felt like the end of the world.

In 9th grade (in my school 9th grade was middle school still) I struggled a lot with my blood sugar. Hypoglycemia rus in my family and it hit me really hard in 9th grade.

One day I was walking down some stairs with 2 friends, heading towards the lunch room. When all of the sudden my vision just started to go black. I reached for the railing, but didn't make it, and I blacked out. I came to like 30 seconds later at the bottom of the stair case. I had slid down the entire staircase on my shins. Of course it was lunch time and everyone heard my friends yell out, so the entire hallway was staring at me by the time I reached the bottom.

Nothing like opening your eyes to not really knowing what happened, but everyone is staring at you. I got up real quick and booked it for the lunch room. End of the world in middle school! I did end up with some cool brusies to show off though.

And for a more light hearted one...

During our first language lesson in Cambodia we saw a giant male pig arrive, and about 10 minutes later we heard uncontrollable screeching. It was horrible. We didn't see the pig leave, and I was sure that they had just killed a pig in the middle of our lesson. I was horrified. I told any volunteer who would listen what happened during our lesson.

During a later lesson we heard it again, so I asked my teacher if the man who owned the house was a butcher because the pigs were squealing. He said no, he's a welder, and the pigs were having sex, that's what the squeeling was.  Oh....then I had to correct myself to every volunteer. Woops. Piglets arrived soon after.

Funny Friday

This week's Funny Friday post is also a little bit scary. It comes to you from the Color Festival we went to last weekend.

I was one of the last ones in our group to shower, and everyone kept looking at me all funny. No one would take my seriously with chalk all over my face, So I started wiping all of the chalk off my face, and then they looked at me even more funny.

I went from this:

To this:

Perhaps the title of this blog should have been "Something Wicked This Way Comes"

Funny Friday

It's Funny Friday time. I was thinking of posts for next week and realized I didn't even have my Funny Friday post done, so I started looking through my phone for funny pictures and found this gem.

Some of you might not think this is funny.

I personally do. Maybe it's a twisted I lived in a third world country and know the culture kinda funny, but it's funny.

In Cambodia...men grow out their pinkie nails. Like grow out as long as possible. They pick their ears and nose and who knows whatever else with them.

One time Hal and another volutneer tried to grow out their pinkies, and I was all "I love you, but that thing has got to go."

Now this might be a little hard to see, so lean into the screen and get a good look. This is the longest I've seen a guy grow out his nails, and he didn't stop at his pinkie.

I hope I'm properly preparing you for this. This is a guy we saw on the bus. I acted like I was taking a picture of Hal. Sneaky Sneaky.

Sexy, no?

Funny Friday

This Funny Friday post is brought to you ala Hal. Not like he's writing it because that would take a miracle, but as in he created it and took the picture.

A few mornings ago Hal said he was going to make me breakfast in bead. I'm spoiled, I know. Well, he went in the kitchen and a few minutes later I just heard, "Oh Crap" and then "Where's the camera?"

Don't you love how that was his first question? I think he dropped 6 eggs on the floor. Good thing he already had a few in the bowl to save my lazy morning.

Unfriendable

Oh my cell phone woes! I had the best pictures to post from this last weekend where we babysat my nephew overnight, and then blast! SD card damaged, please format it....this is exactly what happened back in December. They best be fixing this problem real quick, but chances are that I lost the pictures, even the cute ones that I took of him in bed with Hal and I in the morning. Boo.

On a lighter note have you heard of the website unfriendable? It's like Failbook, but even better because it includes yahoo answers, twitter, and facebook. Amazing! I think my favorite are the yahoo answers. You just read them and think, "Really? Really?!"

Sadly enough, I can totally see people actually doing this.

Haha, I love that last one, because that's something I would totally do as a joke to someone, not knowing that they wouldn't ever be able to change it back. Then when you're applying for a job whoever is hiring you can google you and see the name of your facebook page. Brilliant! Amazing things like that can only happen by accident.

Some of the newer unfriendables seem a little fake to me, so go to the very last page, when it first started, and they're real good!

Viral Videos

The Superbowl was this weekend and I'm sure that most of you have had an overload of video watching if you missed the commercials. I was "watching" aka playing games on my husband's phone so I actually ended up missing most of them. Today I played catch up with a lot of the commercials, because well, they're so dang funny. Just in case you missed this one, I'll share it with you. It was made by some local guys here in Utah.

Love it! And here's a non Superbowl commercial video. They were talking about this on the radio this morning so I knew I had to share this. It's seriously hilarious. Just watch the guy behind the news anchor.

Why would they do a news story in a bar? Maybe it's a Scottish thing? If it is, that's awesome because everything Scottish is awesome. That guy is so cool! Who has the guts to do that on live TV? Especially when his wife is pulling him away. Man, I need to meet this guy and become his friend. My favorite part is when he starts dancing. I'm seriously flabbergasted that she had no idea that he was there. It seems she she would have seen him in her peripheral vision, he gets so close to her and the camera, how did she not know?!

Did you watch the Superbowl Commercials? Because let's face it, that's really what most people watch for. What was your favorite commercial?

Search Engine Traffic

Ok, so I was totally planning on blogging something else today, but I just laughed so hard that I decided I needed to blog about it.

Have you guys ever heard of Google Analytics? There are a lot of different websites out there that will help you track your blog. I have been to a lot of them. Not really because I cared about how many people were visiting my blog each month or really who was, but I saw on so many people's blogs talking about what people searched to find their blog. Now that's what I was interested in. It seems like some of the other tracking websites offer this, but I could never figure it out on them. Google Analytics is really easy to use (and no, they aren't paying me to blog about this...although, if they see this and offer I accept any form of payment), I just thought it was a really good way to track your website and thought I would share...and because I just read what people had searched in google to find my blog and I couldn't help laughing, so I thought I would share some of them with you now.

I get a lot of searches for Greta Garbo, 1940s, puppies, Snooki and A Lot of "Married Couples that look alike". I don't think Hal and I look that much a like, I mean we're both have similar hair color and are white, except in the summer when Hal gets a tan and I don't and he looks like he's of a different race, but that's about it. I can't help it the name of my blog is The Married Couple. I'm guessing that's where it's mostly coming from. Well lately I've started to get some unusual searches that somehow led to my blog, here are the best ones.

I can sort of get ones like this, I blogged about my nails once:
- bent back fingernail
-weird pointer finger nails

I can maybe get this, since the search says married couple:
-a video camera sale to married couple
-pictures where you can put faces with a married couple
But when have I ever blogged about a video camera or pictures where you can put faces with married couple? Does that even make sense? I really have no idea what they were going for there, yet there were multiple searches from it. Weird.

From there things just get even weirder:
-"i * get glasses" -lasik  Umm is that English?
-joshua.partington@gmail.com How is this associated with my blog at all? Maybe I should e-mail him for fun.

And the strangest award goes to:

-bet.com movie you do or you dont a black couple barely getting married
There are no words.

You guys should sign up for this, or any site that offers search engine tracking, and then post about it because I find it hilarious what leads people to websites.

Pumpkin Baby

Here in Utah today is being celebrated as Halloween. One of my favorite parts of Halloween is to see my nieces and nephews all dressed up. Since we're down to one laptop it may be a little bit before I can post the pictures from Halloween, so I'll keep it a surprise as to what I'm being, I'll just say that it's not Lucille from Arrested Development.

But since it's Halloween today to all of us I thought I would share a little nugget with you. When we carved pumpkins a bit ago I decided to have a bit of fun with the pumpkins

hahaha! I don't know why I thought this was so funny. The stem of the pumpkin stuck out so I tried to cover it, it made it look like my belly button had popped, to be real big. Then it got even better becasue I started dancing with my pumpkin belly, 'cause you know, you have to keep things light, even when you're pregger with a pumpkin.

Check that out! oh yeah! Hot pumpkin baby mama, right there. hehe, looking at these pictures again, you can totally see my chapstick in my pocket. You can't beat burts bees! A few minutes later I gav birth to a half green pumpkin when He-sam arrived to carve it. It was like the whole Elphaba thing all over again. haha j/k. Good to know I can wear this sweatshirt one day when I'm for real preggers!

Survivor Cook Island

It's funny how when you're away from the computer for a few days in a row it seems like you have missed out on so much somehow. I've been sick this last week and haven't been on the internet for quite a while and all sorts of things happen, people getting engaged, having parties, and silly status updates, and I was so slow to get the news. Doesn't it make you feel so out of the loop, even when you're only gone for 4 or 5 days?

I'll pretend it was because I was off vacationing somewhere awesome instead of getting awesomely toned abs from coughing non stop for a week. Lets hope those abs so up soon due to my hard work. I'll consider it my preparation for the Autism Walk since I haven't been doing anything for it yet. Maybe I'll get around to it next week, since you know, I have a whole two weeks left.

On another note I will share this awesome video with you. We were talking about it the other day and it reminded me how awesomely funny it is. Who doesn't love a little racial stereotyping? Oh...probably lots of people, but watch it anyway, because it's hilarious.

I have an awesome video that I took this weekend to post, but they take so long to upload and I've been kind of busy helping out with Erin's Promise...It opens next weekend! I'm so stoked, you all should go see it. It opens in Nephi, if that's too far don't worry, we are going kind of all over the state, so if Pocotello, Provo, or even Logan are closer to you don't worry, we'll be coming there too.
