Yesterday DC had it's first real snow storm of the winter. We've gotten snow a few times, but hardly anything more than a dusting. My work, and most other businesses closed for the day in anticipation for winter storm Janus.
In Utah we don't get snow days, and most people aren't afraid to drive in the snow, here people are afraid to be out in the snow, and everything shuts down just at the hint of a snow storm. It made for an absolutely beautiful scene, no one was out, so I decided to go for a walk in the snowy evening.

It was a really enjoyable / peaceful walk until I turned around to walk back and started against the wind with snow whipping into my face.
It continued snowing over night, and we ended up with about 6 inches on the ground. It made me feel a little more at home here since I've been missing all of the snow from back home.

It's SO beautiful isn't it?! But SO so crappy when you have to venture out in it with your car at 7AM!! :/
Well that's a little snow adventure for you! Sometimes I kind of wish I lived in a place where life shut down after a couple inches of snow--but I'm glad Michigan has the equipment to handle all the snow we get!
How gorgeous!!! I wish we got snow here!
So gorgeous!!! It's funny. I never ever had a snow day in Switzerland. It snowed a lot too but to get off? No way. We had to walk to school regardless. You did the right thing Sam...walking outside and enjoying every single snow moment...perfect!!!
Now that is some major snow!!
