Favorite Quotes

For today's link up with Jenni's blog every day in May, the topic is:

Day 4, Saturday: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it.

Now I can't just choose one, because really, who just has one favorite quote? So instead I'll share with you my top 3 favorite quotes right now.

I love this quote partly because I love anything nautical themed, and partly because I feel like this is the greatest life philosophy to have. Life is going to happen no matter what you do, so it's much easier to adjust to the changes than to fight them. It's taken me a long time to learn that.

If you know me, you know I love Tolkien, and that I have a traveling soul, so I just feel like this quote fits me perfectly. I had this quote put on a luggage tag from this great Etsy shop before we left for Cambodia, and it traveled all around the world with us.

Lastly this is a new favorite quote of mine. I LOVE this quote. It just seems like so many people these days take their relationships so casually and aren't willing to put in the commitment it takes to make a marriage work. That's why I love this quote. God blesses us so much, and this is the way we can give back to him. We can give him the gift of working on our marriage. Wouldn't it make you want to work on your marriage, if you saw it as a gift back to God for all that he blesses us with?

Stop on over at Jenni's blog Story of My Life and see everyone else who is linking up for the May blog challenge.

I love the quote by Tolkien. I think that it is so important in life to go somewhere and not have any idea where you are going. Start walking with no destination in mind. You aren't lost, you just don't know where you are going.

I love that Tolkien quote! All three of the quotes you've shared are beautiful, but that one is my favorite. My husband and I move around a lot and people often equate that with instability and lack of focus but that couldn't be furthest form the truth. Looking forward to the rest of your posts in this series Sam :)

Ah, the first one is great! I've heard the second before, also one of my faves.

My favorite: To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring.
