100th post giveaway! (closed)

100th Post Giveaway!!

It's here guys. It's officially my 100th post, I'm pretty stoked about it. My promise is about to be fulfilled.

Since you know, my blog isn't the most happen' thing out there and people aren't approaching me daily to host giveaways my friend and I decided to create an etsy to make our own giveaway. Actually, that isn't what happened, but it sounded like a good story, eh?

What really happened was my bestest friendlies and I did create an etsy shop, for a pretty cool product.

I know, I know, lots of people are making headbands for etsy, but do they let you make your own headbands. For real, we have some finished headbands posted so you can see what styles you have to choose from and a tons 'flowers' to choose from. SO choose your headband style, AND your flower to top it off.

Here are some of my favorite finished heabands and flower heads. Go look for yourself and pick your favorites. Visit our etsy shop here. It's called Piccadilly Pear. I love the name.

So we are giving away a headband! Yay, and you can pick your flower, and your headband.

We are offering multiple ways to enter for the giveaway, so feel free to do them all. You can enter by:

1-Leaving a comment saying what you would like from our shop

2-Start following us on twitter/this blog/facebook

3-Blog about this giveaway!

The giveaway ends next Thursday, March 4th.

P.S. The wisdom teeth people called, and asked me to switch days, so I am getting them out on Friday morning, even earlier than before. It's good though, Hal's mom will still be in town and she wanted to take care of me, so I am glad. And Hal will actually be home to take care of me too.

I won something!

Oh my crap. I am so stinkin' stoked. I won my very first giveaway!!

I hardly ever win anything, and I won something amazing; and what makes it even more amazing is who I won it from.

Have any of you heard of the blog We Are That Family? Umm, yeah, she is amazing and he blog is amazingly popular. Hello. Whenever I am on her blog and she has a giveaway I just randomly enter, never assuming I'll win as she had hundreds of commenters.
But holy cow, hold the phone, I won. Want proof? go here. I know, I won it a while ago, but I didn't even notice I had won until Kristen commented on my blog, my blog. Then it took me while to decide what I wanted out of La Bella's beatiful jewlery. Well, it's a while later and my jewlery came, I'm so excited. Wanna know who was maybe just as excited? Hal. I wear the same jewlery all the time and hardly ever buy new jewlery for myself. Last two pieces of jewlery I got were gifts from Hal so he was stoked I was able to get some more.

I picked out my pretty necklace and had some money left on the giveaway and since half of my family has their birthday this month I decided to get a second necklace for my sister for her birthday. I hope she'll love it.
I thought the packaging was so so cute.

Sorry for the crappy photos, I didn't have time to edit them. If you can't read it, it says "I hold your heart in mine" I have wanted a necklace for a while that says this so it must have been fate that I won. hah!

Alright, are you guys ready for my big news?!?

I'm not preggers. (seriously though, I had people ask)

In honor of my 100th post and winning a giveaway I have decided to host a giveaway. I'm really excited about this. My 100th post should be up later this week, possibly the weekend at the lastest, so make sure to check back and find out what the giveaway is.

I am getting my wisdom teeth out at a ridiculous hour that shouldn't be considered morning, on Monday morning, so make sure to leave me some love and entertain me while I am at home looking like a chipmunk stocking up for winter.

Valentine's Day

I'm doing pretty good here, posting more than once a week. Maybe this will help me get to 200 posts a lot faster than it has taken me to 100 post. Only 1 more after this and I am at 100. I'm pretty stoked about that.

So I figured that while I am waiting a little bit to post my news I figured I would do my Valentine's day post. I like Valentine's day, not a ton, but I'm not a hater. I don't like it when people hate on Valentine's day. Don't hate, yo. haha...

I asked Hal to plan something for Valentine's day so he would know my expectation (is that good communication, or what?), and boy, he didn't disappoint. We had such a fantastic weekend. He told me that we couldn't plan anything from Friday night on. We left the house on Friday and headed towards downtown. We ended up at the movie theatre and he kept talking about "Book of Eli", but wouldn't let me see what movie we were seeing, not even the screen outside the theatre. I didn't know what it was until it started. I was so excited though, it was what I wanted to see, Valentine's Day. Loved it, I loved it lots. It was really cute.

After that he took me to a place I love to eat. I know this may seem lame because it's a chain, but I love Noodles and Company. I love it lots and was excited he took me out. The picture below is at NOCO

I'm telling you, he didn't disappoint. He was so sweet and really put a lot of effort into the weekend. On Saturday we went over to his parents and made chocolate covered fruit. We made our own Edible Arragenment. He put it together and arranged it in a vase to be my bouquet. I love love flowers, but this was absolutely adorable. He bought me a rose later in the day so I got the best of both worlds.
While we were eating strawberries over at his parents his dad wanted to show us a T.V. show about how they harvest cashews. It was in Thailand and so we were all craving Thai food, so the 4 of us went to this new yummy place in the 9th and 9th area downtown. It was really yummy and we had such a good time. I love going out to dinner with his family, they're so adventerous.

I had a fun idea of something I really wanted to do when Hal told me we would be making chocolate covered strawberries. Wouldn't it be amazing if
weI made homemade valentines and we gave some strawberries to some people who don't usually get them? I have really felt the intuition to do service a lot lately. We delivered them to some poeple close to us. I think we surprised some of them because we ended coming kind of late since we went out to dinner. I just wish that we had had enough time to give them to more people.

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend weather you were celebrating or not. What did you do? Anything exciting? Any good ideas for next valentines?

P.S. I could just hear Hal talking in his sleep over the tv in another room. He is currently sleeping sideways on the bed. He was so tired tonight that he just crashed where he laid down.

Big News

I love the fact that it's all yummy and rainy outside today. It makes me happy. Rain always makes me happy, I was so excited it rained on Saturday, it was perfect. I have been sick for a little bit and Saturday was the first day I was feeling tons better so it was so nice to finally go outside and be in the rain.

Hal and I had a Valentine's day weekend. He was so sweet and tried to just do everything that he knew I would love. It's nice to feel loved, and to know someone is paying attention. Alright, I'm done being mushy...for the most part. I think I'll leave you with this teaser and do my valentines post in a few days once I get the pictures uploaded...because I have something else I want to say.

I have some BIG NEWS. Seriously, some Big News

First off....let me tell you Hal is amazing at cleaning. He cleans so well and clears off every surface. I can clean pretty well, but I get used to things being in a place so I don't think to clear everything off like he does. Over the past year I have learned that when he clears things off he puts them in really weird places.

Seriously though, last night I was pulling a pair of pajamas out of my chest (yes, I have so many pjs I have to have my own space for them) Well, I saw something sticking out of the top shelf and I was like what? Under some pjs were some stickers I used to make Hal's mom's Christmas present, and some magnets for a frame we have...Right, because they should logically be there, in my pajama chest. Hal said exactly this, "well, there was no where else for them" For real Hal? Not with you know, my crafty stuff, or your papers in your desk? Obviously, that is where they belong.

Now when we were first married I didn't know this...and this is where some big news comes in. In our first apartment we were really bad about stacking papers on our table. Every once in a while Hal would clear them all off. Well, that is how our marriage license went missing. For a year I have been telling people that Hal threw it away because he cleared off the table and it went missing.

That is until last Sunday! Apparently a year ago Hal put our marriage license in my nightstand drawer. Well guess what folks...I can finally change my last name. Now don't hold me to that because I have been known to procrastinate stuff like that, but mark my words, one day I will officially become a Morgan!

Alright, my other piece of Big News is that my 100th post is coming up and I am so excited. I know it has taken me a long time to reach this because I didn't use to blog very much, but well, I made it and that's all that matters.

So, to celebrate I will be doing something extra special. Extra Special, you hear me? SO get ready...it will be heading your way very very soon.

Stay turned, I'll try not to procrastinate.

Dear You : Love Edition

Alright guys, it's that time again for my Dear You segment...and I'm going to do a things i love edition in honor of Valentine's day being this Sunday. I'm pretty stoked about this because I have been forming this idea in my head all week so it's nice to finally get it out.

Dear SIGG water bottle,

via
I love you a lot. I love that the lip is thick so I don't spill water all over myself every time I use you like I do when I use other people's water bottles. I love your pretty design, and I love that Hal bought me a replacement you after the original you was stolen outside of Target during the day after Thanksgiving extravaganza when my little brother left the original you on the side of the building. I promise to love you just as much as the original you.

Dear Tax Return,

I love you lots right now. Thanks for turning out to be a lot even though for some reason the payroll company didn't have federal taxes taken out of my paychecks. Thanks for being something that Hal is good at and likes to do because I dread you, except for when I see how giving you are sometimes, then I love you.

Dear Gmail Chat,

I really like you a lot. I really like that I can talk to people while I am also working, you know, to keep my multi-tasking mind happy. It makes me happy that I can chat along with friendlies while getting paid because I am working in another window. Greatest thing ever.

Dear Hal,

You know I had to put it. I love you, lots. Will you be my valentine?

Dear Valentines,

I remember having such problems deciding who to give the more mushy valentines to when the Valentines exchange came around. I remember loving being able to choose which awesome cartoon Valentines I would send out. And then I remember the year I had pink eye and my mom wouldn't let me go to school for the Valentine's exchange and I was heartbroken. My brother brought home my bag of valentines and goodies, but it just wasn't the same....

So in honor of that, and in honor of Julie being sick and not being able to send out her valentines I decided it would be awesome to send out valentines of my own. I'm not awesome like her and have moderated comments, so if you don't care, you can send me your e-mail in a comment and I will e-mail you to get your address, or you can send your address straight to samnahl@gmail.com. Don't worry, I promise I won't give it out, or stalk you. I'm strictly a blog stalker, except for in high school, to a few select boys, but shhh don't tell.

I am pretty stoked about this idea, thanks for giving me the idea Julie, and thanks to Chloe for sharing her blog so I could find the idea. I'm really going to try and do homemade ones, but if it gets down to it, I may send out some Sesame Street ones or something. If you would like to send me one back, that would be delicious, but don't feel obligated. Please hurry and send me your info...otherwise it may come after Valentine's Day.

Sproutlings

I know I've been breaking a lot of news around here lately. Haha, not really...I'm just silly and it's news to me. But we've already established that I am kind of behind the times when it comes to certain things, oh well.

So now I have some exciting news. We finally took down our tree like halfway through January and we received a sweet surprise in the corner.

I may have mentioned that we kind of have crappy light from our windows so my awesome calla lily plant died. Mainly because Hal moved it to another window and put the blinds down over it, which killed it. Jerk, he's such a plant killer. haha.

It died such a long time ago though, and this may seem gross, but I just took it out of the window and set the pot in the corner and totally forgot about it. After we took the tree out my lily had sprouted up again! Holy cow I was so excited. Calla Lilies are my favorite flowers. My wedding bouquet was even calla lilies. The first picture is when we found it, when it was just a litle sproutling, and it's grown even more! I'm so excited, I feel like such a success.

Here is another sweet little nugget that happened in the life of sam. I had to go pick up something for my work this week. I had to actually drive down to my old neighborhod. I drove past the street that I lived on through middle school and most of highschool. It's kind of weird to go back there now. I was bummed to see that someone had taken down the trellis my my mom had put up so many years ago.
So when I was going to the house to pick something up I saw the most amazing thing. This old man, literally cruising down the street. He even ran a stop sign in his jazzy, he is seriously hard core. I was stopped at the stop sign that he ran and he totally waved at me. It was awesome. I tried to take a picture of him, but he turned the corner on to my old street before I could so I went after him, and I think he noticed that I followed him because he pulled over to the side of the street and stopped. So I took a picture and drove away real fast. My favorite part, he had flags on top of the jazzy! Oh man, old men are so cool. I have had an inside joke for so long about having a jazzy when I am older and being a crazy old hard core lady, just like this guy. Maybe Hal can see this and take it as a look into our future.

Hiatuses are lamesauce

A crime has been committed everyone, a crime to humanity. This is a serious problem and I'm sad I didn't know about it earlier. Guess I have kind of fallen behind on the times.

I'm so upset and the more I think about it (like thinking about it to write this post) the more upset I get. Can't you see I'm in distress here? Well, maybe you can, but I am talking to no one until I read the comments so how am I supposed to know that while I am writing.

My favorite band is on...the new hip word they use instead of saying they broke up....hiatus.

Seriously, I haven't been this upset since Something Corporate went on hiatus. And how many years have they been on "hiatus." Well, I guess I wasn't really a fan of theirs until after they went on hiatus and Jack's Mannequin is just as good so I'm not really that upset anyway...and it made it so I could meet most of the band members when their new little known bands came to town.

But this time, I really am upset. Now I know I don't talk about music much on this blog. I used to be super into music, but lately I've just been listening to mainly the same bands and I've gotten into really mellow music.

And I just realized I haven't even mentioned who I am talking about. My favorite band is The Hush Sound. I've loved them for a few years. Their music is clean and I love that they have two lead singers. I have seen them perform live before, and they're pretty darn good. I was bummed that I got off work late last time they came to town so I couldn't go. And that could have been the last time they will come to town...ever *tear.

Alright, Alright, I'll stop with the dramatics, ans post some videos instead. These are videos I found on Youtube of my two favorite songs by them. They're both rather slow songs and both sung by Greta, the girl lead singer. Side note: I asked Hal the other day when we went to see Heath Ledger's movie and someone in it was named Greta and I asked him if we could name one of our daughters Greta. He said yes...now I don't know if he was being serious, but I would totally name our kid Greta. That would be awesome.

Back to real story. The first song is called Hurricane from their last album, and the second one is called Lighthouse and I love it for the story it tells and I am obsessed with nautical things, but that's for another post. I couldn't find a very good video for it, so if you want to there is a shaky video posted below.

Enjoy!
P.S. Greta has a new side project called Gold Motel, I'm excited to hear their music.
